Internship - Communications (Contract)

Position Summary:

This long-term internship will allow the successful candidate to work with Corporate Communications professionals to craft and disseminate strategic communications messages within Airbus, primarily focused within the Manufacturing site and Engineering Center in Mobile, AL, using a variety of communication tools. Candidate will also learn a great deal about aircraft production and the aerospace industry through his/her job duties.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Primarily support internal communication activities within Airbus in Mobile
  • Produce stories to support strategic communication goals and objectives. Interview subject matter experts, write high-quality articles for various communication outlets, take photographs/videos (or arrange photography/videography when appropriate), post/publish/disseminate to various communication tools per process.
  • Help develop and maintain a forward-looking editorial calendar for various communication tools.
  • Maintain the Mobile FAL Domain Page within the Airbus HUB (I-share based) and keep the site updated and relevant, as needed.
  • Some event planning/support probable

Experience/Skills/Training:

  • Excellent writing skills required (including proof-reading and adapting to company style)
  • English primary language
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Facebook/Twitter/other social media outlets (quick learner on company-specific software)
  • Highly desired skill level experience with: videography to include editing and producing short videos;
  • I-share and Google Suite experience a plus.
  • Self-starter; outgoing; creative; detail-oriented; multi-tasker; confident
  • Ability to work well with colleagues in a culturally and internationally diverse environment.

 Education:

  • Junior or Senior level enrollment in an accredited university degree program in Journalism, Communications (corporate, digital or social) or Marketing Communications
