The purpose of this position is to assist in reconciliation of financial information including revenue accounts, payroll withholding accounts, and cash accounts; reconciliation of bank statements; completion of financial transactions relating to accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and purchasing; preparing and/or reviewing journal entries, identifying discrepancies, and making necessary adjustments; and to assist with the processing and reconciliation of payroll on a bi-weekly basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

·        Bachelor degree in accounting, business administration, or closely related field.

·        Two (2) years previous experience and/or training in financial accounting, governmental accounting, financial reporting, budget administration, general ledger, accounts receivable.

·        Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience to provide the requisite knowledge and skills listed above.

·        Be at least age 21, hold a valid Alabama driver’s license, and be insurable by the City’s insurance carrier.
