Summer Marketing Intern & Co-op

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Under minimal supervision from the Vice President of Pre-Construction, working in assistance to the marketing strategies of the organization, responsible for overseeing the representation of a positive organizational image to the staff, general public, clients and the community which includes media relations, community relations, events coordination, internal/external communications and data management functions.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:

¨        Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing or related field required, or currently enrolled in a degree program; 

¨        Minimum two (1) year experience preferred in desktop publishing, corporate identity programs, event planning, media relations, and writing and editing for publications highly desired;

¨        Ability to manage multiple activities/projects, meet multiple deadlines and network with staff, management and clients required;

¨        Working knowledge of MS Windows, MS Word and MS Excel required; Adobe

¨        Detailed oriented with excellent analytical skills required;

¨        Excellent written and verbal communication skills required;

¨        Availability and ability to travel required.

 

TYPICAL PHYSICAL NEEDS:

Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, climbing, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.  May need to climb stairs/ladders/scaffolding and lift up to 30 lbs.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

¨        Normal professional office setting.

¨        Hours of work are Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm.hOUHou

¨        Occasional Evening and/or weekend work. 

¨        Travel may be required. (Less than 10%).

TYPICAL DUTIES:

1.        Assist in the management of the overall corporate marketing plan.

2.        Organize and maintain all company files electronically relative to Marketing and Communications. 

3.        Publish employee and client newsletter on a regular basis, as directed by management.

4.        Develop, produce and maintain marketing collateral materials, website, video presentations, etc.

5.        Establish and maintain a library of company and project photography and proposals.

6.        Assist in corporate advertising, sponsorships and paid media placement.

7.        Manage and maintain corporate social networking sites, blogs, forums, etc.

8.        Coordinate special events for company trips and other project related events.

9.        Assist with business development plan and strategies.

10.    Prepare qualification and proposal packages.

11.    Complete internet search of the company on a regular basis; maintain positive company image.

12.    Serve as a member of at least one (1) local community and/or civic organization.

13.    Other duties as assigned.
