Accounting Intern
The Accounting Intern will work with the accounting department and CFO providing support in a variety of areas. The activities may be concentrated in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable and could include assignment to other tasks and special projects as needed. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent organizational, prioritizing and interpersonal skills.
Primary Job Functions
· Invoice processing: enter all vendor invoices into the accounting software, verify receipt and price against the purchase order and approved delivery documents.
· Set up and maintain vendor information in the Accounts Payable system.
· May perform AR collections tasks as assigned such as conduct detailed research, reconciliation and analysis required to resolve all nonpayment or account disputes.
· Organize and file documents that have been entered into the accounting system in accordance with document retention policies.
Job Requirements
Education:
· High School Diploma or equivalent, required
· Associate Degree in accounting related field, in progress
· Successfully completed Principles of Accounting I and II
Experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· General accounting / business principles
· Working knowledge of QuickBooks
· Internal controls relating to pricing management
· Effective time management and organizational skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Work independently as well as in a team environment
· Analytical and problem-solving skills
· Detail oriented
· Maintain confidentiality
· Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
· Display empathy, understanding and patience with employees and external customers
