Estate Auditor - Probate Court

This is responsible professional estate auditing work for the Probate Court of Mobile County to insure compliance with statutory requirements.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE WORK:  An employee in this class is responsible for auditing estate accountings filed with the court and for performing other governmental accounting functions as required by state laws and regulations. Work is performed in the field and in the office under the general supervision of the Chief Clerk - Probate Court in accordance with the governmental accounting standards of the State of Alabama and established court policy and rules. Supervision may be exercised over clerical employees. Overtime work may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Attainment of a minimum of a bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in accounting, finance or a closely related field, and a minimum of one year experience in estate auditing and governmental accounting; or a combination of education or experience equivalent to these requirements.
 
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be bondable to limits prescribed by the Probate Judge of Mobile County.
