U.S. Marshals Northern District of Alabama Internship

***Fall Semester cutoff date is 7/10/2019***
***Spring Semester cutoff date is 10/15/2019***

•Shadow the duties of Deputy United States Marshals and Administrative Personnel within the Northern District of Alabama.
•General office work.
•Assistance with special projects.
•Attend hearings in U.S. District Court and interaction with U.S. District Court personnel.
•Visit with Federal Agencies such as U.S. Probation, Federal Prisons, Federal Public Defender, U.S. Attorney’s Office and other Federal Law Enforcement Agencies as the U.S. Marshals Service daily schedule allows.
•Interaction with The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and state and local law enforcement officers as the U.S. Marshals Service daily schedule allows.

Learning Outcomes

Interaction and Exposure with other federal agencies, local and state law enforcement, U.S. District Court, U.S. Probation, Federal Public Defender, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Interaction with Administrative personnel within the U.S. Marshals Service for a general knowledge of prisoner operations, management and budget procedures.
Expansion of practical knowledge derived from school courses into real life situations of the Federal Justice System.
Gain knowledge and understanding to expand on breaking down criminal activity and complete a compilation, analysis or synopsis of the activity. 

The intern will be working Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am - 5 pm.
