Standard Furniture is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team in Bay Minette, Alabama. The ideal candidate has experience in Accounting or Finance and is proficient in the use of MS Excel. This position reports to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and is an important part of the financial team. 
 
Job purpose
The Financial Analyst assists the Director of FP&A with daily activities related to financial information of the company. This is a key role that is responsible for compiling, analyzing and reviewing financial data to ensure accuracy and timeliness of the deliverables.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
Assist in the preparation of financial reports
With the help of computer spreadsheets, draw charts and graphs to perform trend analysis
Perform data entry and verify that the financials tie to underlying support schedules
Develop automated accounting applications to improve productivity
Analyze financial performance and assist in developing forecast models
Assist with the annual budgeting process
Perform budget and cost analysis and assist with the formulation of key drivers
Communicate or liaise with leadership, finance personnel and other analysts in completing work assignments
Core Competencies: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience        
Required
Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance
1-3 years’ experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Proficient in the use of MS Excel-formulas, functions, and charts/graphs
Working knowledge of compiling large data sets and financial modeling
Basic understanding of “footing/cross footing” to ensure financial integrity
Is detailed and accuracy oriented
Can effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Demonstrates the ability to prioritize work and efficiently complete tasks
High integrity and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and other sensitive/proprietary knowledge received during the execution of duties
Working conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
