Marketing Intern

Purpose of position:  Provide learning opportunities for junior or senior level marketing, public relations or communications student with an interest in B2B marketing and communications.

Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation). 

·        Work on special projects with marketing team to design materials for trade show promotions, email campaigns, client presentations using Adobe and PPT.
·        Creating and maintaining corporate marketing templates
·        Draft email blast content and client communications.
·        Work on client newsletter
·        Create social media posts around events for LinkedIn
·        Assist with promotion and creation of materials for major events such as trade shows and User Group Meetings
·        Assist with database updates into salesforce and Pardot systems. (We will train them. Don’t expect them to have prior experience)
·        Assist with lead generation activities including creating call lists

Skills, knowledge and abilities: (these are required to enable job holder to perform the essential functions of the job).

  • Must have exposure to Adobe Creative Suite; with Microsoft Word, MS Power Point, MS Outlook. Would be helpful to have experience with InDesign, Illustrator and/or Photoshop
  • Experience with writing, editing and preparing a variety of communication pieces including brochures, data sheets, speeches, talking points, press releases and social and new media strategies. Project work from upper levels coursework is sufficient.
  • Must pay high attention to detail with the ability to generate creative concepts.
  • Must be a team player, with the confidence to take the lead and coach other departments when necessary. 
  • Must be able to interact cordially and productively with co-workers in a team environment and establish relationships with individuals at all levels of the company.
  • Must be organized and proficient with logistics.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and to work under pressure and to prioritize. 
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to proficiently read and write in English.
  • Must be ability to handle difficult individuals and situations.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of move around the office occasionally.


Experience and Education Requirements:

Upper level student in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations required; Preference for candidates that have had at least one internship/externship experience in marketing.
