General Responsibilities
Responsibilities include researching potential foundation and corporate partners; compiling information about the grantor and their specific grant process, requirements, deadlines; identifying viable points of contact; and maintaining information in a centralized format. Other areas interns gain experience in will be writing and communications in fundraising. Gather information and data from faculty and staff regarding projects requiring funding. We are looking for interns capable of researching and tracking prospective funding opportunities within fixed guidelines.

The internship will provide the opportunity to learn about Development for higher education. You will work on projects that will give you hands-on experience with grants and fundraising. The opportunity will allow you to sharpen your research and communication skills in a professional environment.
Specific Responsibilities
-Conducts research and identifies funding opportunities from foundation and corporate entities
-Compiles information about grantor and their grant requirements into grant tracking spreadsheet
-Identifies and tracks viable points of contact and contact information for granting entity
-Tracks and coordinates prospective funding deadlines
-Writes donor stories and profiles for use in publications and digital marketing
-Assist with updating and maintaining foundation and corporate profiles and funding requests
-Assist Development Business Office with assigned projects and tasks
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills including written and oral
- Collaborative, self-motivated and detail oriented
- Ability to complete projects with limited supervision
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work well under deadlines
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Drive required
- Demonstrated understanding of the University mission and interest in the field of Development
Education
Junior, senior, or current graduate student pursuing studies in English, Communications, Business, of a related field.
Compensation
This internship is unpaid. Internship credit hours may be available based on your College or School.
