Leadership Development Program-Southeast Region

The Leadership Development Program is a structured position that will expose participants to various aspects of Performance Coatings Group. This is a rotational training program that will provide the experiences needed to build keys skills that will enable participants to become successful management and operations professional within our industrial locations. The Leadership Development Program is designed to provide exposure to multiple products, customers and divisions to ensure a successful transition into an Assistant Branch Manager or Assistant Operations Manager position.

The program will include the following experiences:

Operations Management:
•Develop leadership skills to effectively manage others and drive positive business results in a branch or facility environment.
•Build acumen around the Sherwin-Williams business segments, customers, and go-to-market strategy.
•Gain a thorough understanding of Sherwin-Williams processes and systems.
•Learn warehouse and delivery operations.
•Build understanding of distribution methods.
•Develop color matching skills to meet customer needs including tinting, blending and mixing of products.
•Learn to oversee operations including recruitment of employees, leading safety initiatives and scheduling staff hours.
•Learn the day-to-day branch and facility operations, including asset, inventory management (Profit & Loss), order process, audits and cycle counts.
•Gain knowledge and understanding of the product offerings and applications of all PCG divisions.
•Learn how to drive business results through facility and branch staff positions including Warehouse Workers, Customer Service Associates, Drivers and Blenders.

Sales Support:
•Develop strategic plans to effectively understand and meet current and prospective customer needs.
•Understand the pricing strategy and how it is executed.
•Execute product application and troubleshoot product issues.
•Support Sales and Technical Services in meeting financial goals and gain an understanding of territory and budget management (Profit & Loss).
•Build cross-functional partnerships with and understand the interaction of Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, Technical Services and R&D to execute sales strategy and strategic advantages
•Assist in collecting market information on customers and competitors, estimating customer potential, and estimating the facility/branch’s market share.

Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible for a management position within our operations organization. Position and location will be determined by business need. Relocation will be required for both training (first 12 months of employment) and post-program placement.
 
Basic Qualifications:
•Must be open to relocation based on business need for training, post program position and promotional opportunities
•Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment visa status
•Must have valid driver's license
•If usage of employee’s own vehicle is required, employee must obtain appropriate insurance as defined by Corporate Policy
•GPA of 2.5 or higher
•Bachelor's degree, preferably business related major
•Ability to work all scheduled hours

Work Experience Requirements:
•Knowledge of Business to Business (B2B) concepts
•Desire to be in management and operations
•Prior operations, customer service, management and/or paint experience preferred


Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis
•Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis
•Must be able to lift and carry up to 50-100 pounds
•Must be able to climb and descend stairs
•Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis
•Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing
•May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees
•May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required
•May work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are present
•May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt
•Work surfaces may include concrete.
•Employee must be able to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and be able to wear a respirator as required.
•Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
•Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
•Good color perception for tinting paint
•Must be able to operate a hand truck and/or material handling equipment in facilities and/or branches that have such equipment
