Legislative Spring internship for junior/senior college students and December graduates

Are you graduating in December and haven't found your perfect job opportunity yet? Are you heading to graduate school or law school  and have a gap semester? Maybe you are a college junior/senior looking for an internship for credit. If you are looking for an internship that will give you the chance to network with state leaders, hone your knowledge of the state legislative process, AND provide you with an excellent opportunity to grow personally, the Alabama Legislative Internship Program might be what you are looking for. The internship begins on January 25, 2021, with an orientation week and runs through May 17, 2021 (or until the Alabama Legislature adjourns). Interns are assigned to Senate offices or House committees in the State House in Montgomery, Alabama. This is an immersive experience, so interns assist with committee work, constituent services, and observe the legislative process. Resume' work and mock interviews to prepare you for your future are provided upon request and visits with state leaders in Montgomery will enhance your learning experience. Interns work Monday - Thursday, 8:00 - 4:30, but are encouraged to stay and observe the legislature when the legislators stay late. Networking opportunities exist every day of this internship and you have a chance gain experience that will give you a leg up in your job search. Questions? Call Teresa Norman at (334) 261-0681 at the Legislative Services Agency in Montgomery.
